![]() Peggy KerouacPeggy (Margaret) Kerouac, CASAC, CCDC, served as the counseling consultant and contributing author to Aftermath. Peggy has 20 years of counseling experience and specializes in the areas of trauma recovery and addiction treatment. Peggy grew up in Nashua, NH. She completed her undergraduate work at Norwich University, Northfield Vermont. She was first licensed as Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor in New York in 1992. Kerouac's Masters Degree and Certificate of Advance Study in Counseling was completed at the State University of New York at Oswego in 1996. Her graduate work, which earned Lucy Wing Research Honors Award from SUNY, focused on treatment of adult survivors of incest and childhood sexual abuse. Ms. Kerouac spent 15 years in upstate New York as a teacher and counselor. Kerouac worked at SUNY Oswego Counseling Center while completing her graduate work. She also operated a private counseling practice from 1994-1996. In 1996, she moved to Waycross, Georgia to work as an instructor, general counselor, and guidance counselor for Waycross College. In 2000, Kerouac joined the Job Corps staff as TEAP Counselor in Woodstock, Maryland. She runs a support group for young adults who have suffered the loss of friends and family members to violence. |
